15 weeks

I can't believe it is 15 weeks already. This pregnancy is actually flying by. I am still feeling good, only sick in the mornings if I don't eat something.

I tried to tell Kaitlyn that there was a baby in mommy's tummy the other day. She promptly ran over, lifted up my shirt, stared at it for a second, lifted her hands in a "where, I don't see anything" manner, and walked away. That was that....

I will take some pictures soon of my ever growing stomach!

Then and Now

We went in last week for our ultrasound and risk test. We did one with Kaitlyn too. I was looking through my report from Kaitlyn's results and found a shocking, yet comforting fact. Because they look at my risk factors as well as the babies size and measurements when calculating the risk for certain deformities, my weight is in there.

At 13 weeks with Kaitlyn I weighed 224 pounds, and that is after having morning sickness and actually loosing a few pounds. With this baby, at 13 weeks, I weighed 194 and that is without morning sickness and with crazy bad for me cravings. I am 30 pounds lighter!!!!! At that moment I didn't feel bad that I had already put on 6 pounds with this pregnancy...

More cravings and eating like a pig

Okay, so maybe I am not eating anymore than I did when I was pregnant with Kaitlyn, but I feel like I am eating like a pig. I think it may be because on WeightWatchers I was eating much less than when I was heavy and now this much food actually seems like a lot. Who knows, but when I am really hungry, man I can put it away. Last night NJ claims I ate more than he did...

And now for my latest and greatest craving...Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches!! Funny enough, I am not much of a P/J kind of person. I LOVE PB, but putting it with jelly was never a great option. Well, now I am addicted to them. In the last week I have had 6, which is more than I think I have eaten in the last 5 years! NJ says I must be craving protein or something.

All I know is that I need to watch how much of what I am eating or I am going to balloon up and I don't want to put back on the 50 pounds I lost.

Say Hello to Baby Sawtell - 13 Weeks

Measuring at 6.44 cm he/she is perfect.
Heart rate is around 150-155 bps

Although we still don't know - we are affectionately referring to "it" as Little Man. I guess in a few weeks we will see if this name will stick or not ;)

12 Week ultrasound

We went in on Friday, January 2, for our 12 week appointment. Everything seems perfectly fine. The doctor couldn't hear the heartbeat immediately so she brought in the ultrasound machine. Ah shucks, had to get a picture. Little guy/gal was moving and heart beat was strong :)

Cravings!!!!

Well, the good news this time is that I haven't had any repulsing reactions - like how much I hated pizza when I was pregnant with Kaitlyn - but I am craving things again. This time it includes fruit and smoothies (same as with Kaitlyn), but also includes mashed potatoes with lots of salt, potato chips the salter the better, and chocolate. The funny thing is that I don't really like chocolate so it is a new experience to actually crave it. I am really trying to be good so that I don't gain back the 50 pounds I worked so hard to loose. So, for potato chips I am choosing, for the most part, low fat or fat free options, and Healthy Choice makes a Fudge Bar that is really chocolaty that is only 1 Weight Watchers point. We shall see tomorrow how much damage I have really done :(

Pregnancy: 12 weeks

New Years Eve marked 12 weeks. The weeks have seemed to fly by with the holidays and work schedule. The good news is that I am not nearly as sick with this baby as I was with Kaitlyn. I am, however, three time more tired, but that may have to do with the fact that with Kaitlyn I didn't have a toddler to keep up with :) Nathaniel has been great, taking over some of the daily tasks, and I have been catching a wink of sleep any time I can - last week it was a 30 minute shut eye at work :(

We go in Friday, January 2, for our next doctors appointment and next week for another ultrasound to monitor the baby.

Pregnancy: The beginning

At the beginning of November, we found out that we were expecting a baby. We were approximately 4 weeks along. Although extremely excited about the new little life about to join ours, we were also a bit scared - in July and again in September we had lost two precious lives to miscarriage.

The week before Thanksgiving, at about 6 weeks Sebrena started bleeding a bit and the doctor put her on bed rest and sent her to the hospital. After a very long day, the ultrasound showed a beautiful living little speck :)

At nine weeks we were sent in for an early ultrasound and got to hear his/her heartbeat for the first time. It was a beautiful sound.
